November 2016 in Berlin
...the end of the year is coming up and I’m guessing we could all need some more motivation and fun
to get us through this cold season. No worries, Berlin never let’s you down, there is always something going on here – right? No matter if you’re looking for culinary treasures, adventurous movie screenings or provocative exhibitions – we’ve got it all! Here is a little preview of what is going on this month...
Uncertain States
This art project (initiated by the Akademie der Künste) is taking place between 15.10.2016-15.01.2017.
The project deals with current political questions, such as the causes of flight, migration, the new nationalism in Europe and neocolonialism. These themes are critically illuminated and implemented in the artistic context. The presentation takes place in various forms such as debates, lectures, concerts, performances, film screenings. The main focus of the project is the uncertainty about political, social and individual conditions caused by poverty, wars and terror. In doing so, not only current events are to be reflected, but also historical experiences are to be evaluated.
This event is worthwhile for everyone, not only to better understand the connections in the world, but also to develop understanding of our fellow human beings on a global scale.
The project is supported by the Federal Cultural Foundation.
„Splitter Music Festival“
The festival is brand new in Berlin and focuses on contemporary orchestral music. It is experimenting with music improvisation in a large format. More than 80 artists will present a great improvisation show on 4 different evenings at 2 venues. Worth a visit!
