Berlin New Year's Run on 1st January 2018
Twelve hours after the turn of the year, the Berliners quickly put on their sneakers and get ready for the new running program.
The New Year's Run in Berlin is an annual tradition and a marathon of a different kind. After the New Year has rung in, the sporting ambitions can be put into practice without any competitive stress. No time is measured in this run and there is no award ceremony. All those of you who feel like participating in this race can do that very easily. Participation is free and you don’t even have to sign up before, just joining the crowd! Whether young or old, parents with baby joggers or children on their shoulders, costumed or with musical instrument, with whistles or just normal bystanders, everyone is welcome! The four-kilometer route offers a perfect Berlin sightseeing tour. It leads from the Brandenburg Gate to Unter den Linden and in a large arc around the Berlin Cathedral back to the Brandenburg Gate. The start signal is at 12 o'clock. During the run, the SCC collects donations for UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund. Last year there were over 4000 participants. We can beat that, right? Sneakers on, and let's go for a good cause!
