Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin

The Mercedes  Benz arena (used to be: O2- World) was opened in September 2008. It was build for 2 years.




From the beginning of the building in 2006 until 2015 the hall was named ‘O2- World’. It costed 165 million euro. The Mercedes Benz arena is the home arena for the ice hockey team ‘Eisbären Berlin’ and the basketball team ‘Alba Berlin’.


The arena is a multipurpose arena. During ice hockey matches 14 200 people can fit in it, during basketball matches 14 500 and during concerts even 17 000.
The area of the arena used to be the eastern goods station.
