In the Maxim Gorki Theater are hot discussions happening in the canteen

The Я [yes] in GOЯKI is the last letter in the Russian alphabet and means "I", because this is primarily about self-determination.
It is also characterized by its international character; many pieces are multilingual or subtitled.
The Gorki has rightly become Theatre of the Year 2016, because the ensemble includes stars such as Anja Schneider, Regine Zimmermann and Peter Kurth as well as many talented young talents who all give their best and have the courage to experiment.
Here it is expressly desired to have a say and discuss and it can be continued wonderfully in the Theaterkantine! Don't miss the Museum Island next to the theatre on your next visit. Tickets for Berlin's art scene are available here.

Brief history of the Maxim Gorki Theater

It is the oldest concert hall in Berlin. Designed in 1827 by master architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel, the "Sing-Akademie" served as a concert hall for the oldest mixed choir in Berlin. It was not until after the Second World War that the classical building was opened as a spoken theatre. Since 1952, contemporary theatre has been performed here under the name Maxim GOЯKI .
Since 2013, the theatre has been under new management, dealing in particular with upheavals in society and situations of transition.
