The world clock stands on Alexanderplatz and was erected in 1969 during the GDR regime. On September 30th 1969 the clock was officially handed over for the 20th anniversary of the GDR.

The Deutsche Oper is, in addition to the Komsiche Oper and the State Opera, the largest of the three Berlin opera houses. It was founded at the end of the 20th century and built with a modern program and without boxes, but with good seats for all spectators. A massive outer wall to the Bismarck street in Berlin-Charlottenburg, on which the building is located, completely protects the auditorium from the street noise.
At the SeaLife Berlin, not far from the Berlin Cathedral, and right next to Alexanderplatz, you can embark on a fascinating journey through the depths of the ocean up to the waters of the Spree. The highlight is a ride with a lift through the largest freestanding cylindrical aquarium in the world which offers a unique insight into the habitat of the coral reefs.
The Spreebogenpark Berlin, located in the Tiergarten district, was opened in 2005. The fan-shaped, six-hectare complex is located in the immediate vicinity of the government buildings.
