Kreuzberg – America. Workshop for Photography 1976
In the late 1970s, the outermost edge of West Berlin - yet a lively center of a unique transatlantic cultural exchange. In the midst of the Cold War, the newly founded workshop for photography, at the Checkpoint Charlie, launched an artistic "air bridge" towards the USA, a democratic field of experimentation beyond traditional training and political-institutional requirements.
Total Records. Vinyl & Photography
Four men on a pedestrian crosswalk, an Asian monk in flames, a baby floating behind a one-dollar note, a skinny jean with a zipper, a yellow banana in screen printing, a burning person at the touch of a hand - these photographs have profoundly shaped generations of music fans. What would be the music album without its cover? Only a black, interchangeable vinyl disc.
