36. Long Night of the museums in Berlin 2016
On the 27th of August, at 6 p.m. the doors of 70 museums will be opened. And then it´s again:
Night of the museums. It all began 1997 from an idea, and this magical idea is now as much Berlin as the Brandenburger Gate is. It really has a special charme, a trip to the museum by night. Moreover the selection is such big, that nobody can see every museum from the inside. But the good point is, that you can come visit your favourite museum again or engage some new.
Here is a little selection: the berlin cathedral, the old museum, Bauhaus archive, Assisi panorama the berlin wall, computergamesmuseum, DDR museum, german historic museum, german techniquemuseum, memorial Hohenschönhausen, jewish museum, museum of natural history, topography of terror and a lot more.
But such a highlight offers a lot more. The foyers are illuminated, there are quizstations, bars are inviting for some drinks, musicians show their talent, you can do a danceworkshop and all of it with one ticket. There is a shuttleservice who transports our visitors from museum to museum. Naturally you can use public transport in Berlin, the ticket is valid for driving with the BVG. And for those who like cycling, the bikes from Call a Bike are available the whole evening for free. Register at www.callabike.de and there you go. At 2 a.m. the night of the museums is over.
