Close-up of Berlin Architecture: An Open Doors Weekend on June 24th and 25th
On the last weekend of June 2023, the Berlin Chamber of Architects invites all admirers of architecture and urban planning to view and celebrate the unique building culture of the German capital up close.
The so-called Days of Architecture, taking place on June 24 and 25, offer a wide range of opportunities to personally experience the latest projects by architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and urban planners.
In 2022, the event was under the exciting theme "Architecture builds Future", emphasizing the important areas of energy transition and climate protection in Berlin. The motto for 2023 has yet to be announced, but will certainly focus on Berlin's dynamic and future-oriented architecture.
This weekend, a variety of places will open their doors to architecture enthusiasts, builders, and professionals who want to gain an authentic insight into current architecture and its creators. Although there is no pre-registration for the tours and visits to the participating offices, early registration is recommended to not miss the opportunity.
The annual event takes place nationwide and allows visitors to look behind the "scenes" of architectural offices and get to know the work from the inside. The open offices often offer an extensive accompanying program, that includes lectures, exhibitions, and discussions and allows direct contact with the planners and builders.
How we design and improve our cities and communities significantly influences our future. Therefore, the focus should be on the relationship between the environment, materials, humans, and space to create high-quality and sustainable buildings that serve as a foundation for future generations.
At the Day of Architecture in Berlin, about 100 event locations will be on the program. In total, 31 offices for architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, and urban planning open their doors and invite you to visit. These offices are open for a period of four hours, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Some are open on Saturday, some on Sunday, and some even on both days. On-site, there are lectures, presentations, exhibitions, tours, and, of course, discussions of every form and kind. The program is supplemented by tours of 66 other objects.
