Fete de la Musique in Berlin 21. June 2018

The beginning of summer in Berlin is celebrated every year with the Fête de la Musique on 21.June. It’s THE festival of music in Berlin.

But also for Europe and the world, this day as the global day of music of great importance and is celebrated in 340 cities around the world.
The idea came to life in 1982 by the French Minister of Culture Jack Lang in Paris.
Starting with a musical parade in 1995, the Fête del la Musique is now one of the biggest and most important musical events in Berlin.
Like every year there will be many different venues throughout the city hosting live music. The program is very diverse and serves almost every genre. Amateurs and professional musicians engage on that day and play with heart and soul for all visitors to show their love for music, by even performing without payment - which means for all viewers, you can experience all events of the Fête de la Musique for free.
Not only Berlins concert halls, bars and clubs are thereby used as venues, but also all public streets, squares and parks. Whether with or without electricity and amplifier - music is going to happen either way.
Like many cultural events, the Fête de la Musique invites to explore different genres of music. Therefore, well known as well as new, surprising composotitions will be presented. One thing is sure: every music lovers will get their piece of cake, because the full range will be offered: from classical, jazz, soul, blues, hip-hop and reggae to pop, rock, punk and metal - of course a healthy dose of Berlin Electro can’t be missed either.
The hotspots of the event will be the Spandauer Altstadt, the Revaler Straße in Friedrichshain, the Karl-Marx-Allee, Unter den Linden, the Rosa-Luxemburg place and also the main stage in Mauerpark.

There is really no excuse to miss this musical highlight!
