The so-called BlackBox describes the division of Berlin in the context of the international confrontation at the historical site of the 1961 tank confrontation.
The BlackBox Cold War in Berlin showcases the division of Berlin in the context of international conflicts such as the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Korean War. The exhibition offers fascinating insights into perilous confrontations, spectacular espionage cases, and a world on the brink of nuclear war.
A small cinema, documents and original objects show in this unique exhibition what the Berlin Wall had to do with the Cuba crisis and the Korean War. Inside, the BlackBox consists of a single room. In the centre of the exhibition, the German-German and thus national perspective is depicted on walls marked in red. The international dimension is presented on the green marked inside of the outer wall. By means of display boards and graphics, interesting contemporary stories are told by means of photos, videos and exciting exhibits.
