The Berlin Music Festival - Fête de la Musique Welcomes Summer 2023

In the heart of the summer, more precisely on June 21, 2023, Berlin welcomes the summer with a spectacular music festival, the Fête de la Musique. Musicians from near and far gather on the stages and streets of the city to share their art for free and transform the city into a melodic paradise.

Bonjour au Soleil, is the motto of the day, an ode to the sun and the beginning of summer. Berlin gifts itself a kaleidoscope of musical sounds and celebrations, inspired by a French tradition that has been celebrated in the city since 1995. At the Fête de la Musique, both amateurs and professionals from various music genres have the opportunity to present their talent for free on public stages.

On this special day, the city of Berlin becomes a musical playground. Thanks to a special permit for street music, public places, streets, and parks can become stages from 4 to 10 p.m., as long as it does not have a disturbing influence on protected facilities such as hospitals, schools, or memorials.

After sunset, the Fête de la Musique does not end. Local institutions such as Yaam, Cassiopeia, or Gretchen offer music events until late into the night. There are also pure nighttime stages, including the Junction Bar, the Tresor Club, Ritter Butzke, Blackland, and many more.
