Berlin Marathon 28 and 29 September 2019

The Berlin Marathon is a large running and sports event that takes place annually in Berlin.

The official marathon distance of 42,195 kilometres is designed as a city-wide road race in which professional athletes and amateur runners participate together.

Over 40,000 runners take part in the Berlin Marathon every year. They come from around 120 countries, and the crowd of participants and spectators is correspondingly international and colourful. In Santa costumes, diving equipment or swimming trunks: it is always remarkable what ideas and challenges the participants come up with. The most popular places along the route are the Siegessäule, the Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz, Unter den Linden and of course the Brandenburg Gate.

Thousands more inline skaters will compete on the marathon course on the Saturday before the running event. Power walkers, handbikers, wheelchair users and a children's marathon (4.2195 km) are also part of the marathon weekend organised by SCC EVENTS.

Our Berlin tip:

Funny, lively drive in a convoy through the capital and visit the top sights. Wait when your vehicle chugs over cobblestones, you lie in the second turn, you don't want to get off. A different kind of city tour. Experience a Trabi Safari through Berlin and you sit behind the wheel of a car from GDR times.
