International Museum Day on 19 May 2019
On 13 May is International Museum Day, that means that also in Berlin numerous museums have planned many interesting activities for you on this day.
From the large state institutions to small local and regional collections, countless museums present themselves on this day with special activities such as workshops, special tours, a look behind the scenes, museum festivals and long museum nights with free admission. This year's motto is "Network Museum: New Ways, New Visitors". Traditionally, many memorials such as the House of the Wannsee Conference or the Marienfelde refugee camp memorial invite visitors to guided tours, lectures and activities. As usual on this day, the highlights are the Technology Museum, Bridge Museum, Museum of Communication and the German Historical Museum, which attract many visitors with free admission. International Museum Day has been an annual event since 1978, drawing attention to the diversity and importance of museums. No collection is accidental, each has a history and is an important institution for future generations as bridges between the cultural past and the present. In Germany, the day is under the care of the current President of the Federal Council. Not all museums take part in this promotion, but in our category BERLIN TICKETS you have the possibility to get cheap tickets for the most interesting museums in Berlin at any time!
