Berlin Poetry Festival 2018 from 24 to 31 May: Why poetry isn’t dead yet

This year marks the 19th edition of the Berlin Poetry Festival. The motto this year will be "Values verse art".

Under this headline, the festival wants to critically question values through verse and bring its poetry on the stage. There will be readings from all over the world in different languages. The mixing of culture and language is just as important as artistic freedom. With theater, performance, music, dance, film and digital media there will be also a big mixture of artistic performance. Artists from 37 countries will present their works in the Akademie der Künste. The festival clearly relies on "crossing the border" and encourages reflection. So be ready to expect exciting topics and performances.
Anyone who has heard of “poetry slam” will especially like this festival.
The poetry festival will take place between the 24 - 31 May 2018 at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. There will be several events per day. If you are interested just go to the website and book a ticket.
