The 200 most impressive pictures of 2017, now in Berlin - until 21. January 2018
Since 2007, the "Sony World Photography Award" has been launched and awarded annually. There are a total of 10 categories, including landscape,
architecture, culture, daily life, etc. As always, the focus is on socially engaged photography. Anyone who owns a camera is allowed to participate. Hundreds of photographers from around the world attend the contest each year, and in 2017 a whopping 227,000 photographs from 183 countries were submitted. The 200 most impressive and moving pictures have been selected by jurors and are now on display in the Willy Brandt House. Belgian photographer Frederik Buyckx has won the Sony World Photography Awards 2017 with his landscape photos. His landscape photographs try to give the winter a face, and are very fascinating. German professional photographers also convinced the jury. The Hamburg photographer Sandra Hoyn, for example, won in the category "everyday life". Her series "The Desire of Others" portrays the sex workers in a brothel in Bangladesh. This year's exhibition can inspire many emotions and make you think and refelct. We strongly recommend that everyone pays a visit to the exhibition.
