Story of Berlin auf dem Kurfürstendamm

ZURZEIT GESCHLOSSEN! The Story of Berlin ist ein spannender Streifzug durch 800 Jahre Stadtgeschichte.

Die 1999 eröffnete Dauerausstellung erstreckt sich auf rund 6.000 qm und präsentiert in 21 begehbaren Themenräumen Berliner Historie von der ersten Erwähnung der Stadt bis zum Fall der Mauer. Künstlerisch gestaltete Kulissen, moderne Multimediatechnik sowie Originalexponate, wie eine Staatskarosse von Erich Honecker, vermitteln den Besuchern einen authentischen Eindruck vom Leben der Berliner in der jeweiligen Zeit. Alle Sinne werden durch Toneinspielungen, wahrnehmbare Gerüche und fühlbare Reize in Anspruch genommen. Durch die ungewöhnliche Geschichtsdarstellung richtet sich die Ausstellung auch an ein Publikum, das nicht gerade regelmäßig Museen besucht.

Das Museum “Story of Berlin” befindet sich in einem originalen Atomschutzbunker direkt unter dem Kurfürstendamm im Stadtbezirk Berlin-Charlottenburg. In der unmittelbaren Umgebung finden Sie zudem zahlreiche weitere Berliner Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche, der Zoo Berlin und das KaDeWe.
