A Brief History of Kranzler Eck

In 1932, Kranzler Eck opened in the former Café des Westens, which was once the favorite haunt of rebellious Secession painters, Expressionists, and Dadaists. Over the decades, it transformed into the legendary Berlin coffeehouse, Café Kranzler. Here, German history was made—everyone from John F. Kennedy to Marlene Dietrich enjoyed their coffee here. After extensive renovations, Kranzler Eck reopened in 2017, blending its iconic legacy with a modern twist. Today, it features numerous shops for a vibrant shopping experience, while the café has been updated to suit contemporary tastes.
