This bar had been recommended to me numerous times, and I finally seized the chance to experience its appeal firsthand. As I entered the lounge, it immediately became clear why it was aptly named the Monkey Bar.

The bar offers an expansive panoramic view of the entire zoo, providing a direct line of sight into the habitats of three different monkey species: gorillas, chimpanzees, and orangutans. Their playful antics make for a delightful spectacle as you savor your cocktail, further enhancing the lounge's vibrant atmosphere.

The Monkey Bar's thoughtful design complements its unique setting. Guests can choose to sit on cascading seats, offering an unrestricted view of the zoo, or unwind on cushioned deckchairs, enjoying the sight of the iconic Gedächtniskirche. When the weather allows, you can also sit outdoors and bask in the Berlin ambiance.

However, a word to the wise: if your primary interest is in observing the monkeys, it's best to visit during the day. While the bar can get quite crowded due to its popularity, and the drinks are a tad pricey, the unmatched view and unique experience are unequivocally worth it.
