Dunckerclub

It´s a red brick building under monument protection with long history. It was built in1913/14

by designs of Ludwig Hoffmann. The building has beautiful shamrock and triple windows and terracotta decorations and served as horse barn, salt storage and gym by the surrounding schools. Between 1983 and 1989, it was a famous Club for the teenagers in GDR, which was not famous with the authorities because of punk concerts they were having there.
In summer, you can sit in the outside beer garden, while in wintertime they put a tent for the smokers. It offers space for about 200 people. In the big room there´s a bar and a dancefloor and a small room for chatting with another bar. The DJ sits enthroned a bit up high and can reach his desk climbing up a ladder. Music there is mostly independent and alternative rock. Except for Mondays, which are the “Dark Mondays” with dark wave, EBM, Gothic and death rock. Every thursday they have the “Merciless free of charge Concert”, so free entrance for a concert, it´s a highlight. Every week they have concerts of international bands, parties, author readings and a gothic junk market.
To get inside the club you need to ring a bell, but it´s not hard to get in. There´s no fashion necessary. Take a look at their event calendar.
