Clärchens Ballhaus

The “Clärchens“ is one of the oldest ballrooms in town, it´s from the 1920ies. In 1913 Fritz Bühler

and his name-giving wife Clara Habermann opened this dancing venue. It was in property of the family until 2004, so in total 91 years!
Owners changed in 2004, and the place was completely restored and a beer garden was opened in the front part. Especially in summer it´s a chilled place to hang out for some drinks. It´s a very green place and summer feeling is in the air. Inside, the ballroom is divided in two parts: the big hall on the ground floor and the mirror hall in the first floor. Upstairs you experience a little time travel. There´s a lot of stucco in the mirror hall so you get an impression of how going out dancing felt like in the 1920ies.
The Ballhaus offers different kinds of events: Salsa, Swing, Tango, Cha-Cha. The program is always worth to take a look.
On the weekends you will find a party folk between 18 and over 50 years old, celebrating together. The DJ´s put on everything that is danceable and has a party vibe. People are varied, atmosphere pleasant and it´s easy to get into a conversation with someone new.
